I loved the apartment's privacy and fresh style, especially the cleanliness. The location is great!
Positive: First of all, the stay was absolutely great.
The apartment is very comfortable. It has a living room with a kitchen and a bedroom with a bathroom. It has everything you'd need for living: a large bed and a wardrobe, and each room has its own A/C and ceiling fan. In the living room, you have a sofa, armchair, TV, and dining table with 4 chairs. There were 14 (!) velvet anti-slipping hangers in the closet.
The kitchen has everything you need to eat and cook: a gas oven, fridge, microwave, coffee/tea machine, complete set of tools, knives, forks, spoons, etc., and the dishwasher. There is a large sink with a waste chopper.
Everything was absolutely clean, with no dust, even on the other side of the ceiling fan and not under the bed. In fact, most of the things were brand new. The facility is open since 2023. Many things in the apartment were visibly never used.
The location is very convenient.
It is close to the museum district. Within walking distance, you have Menil's collection, Houston Center for Photography, Rothko Chapel, St Thomas University with its famous St Basil Chapel, and many art galleries. The Museum of Fine Arts is a 20-minute walk or a 6-minute drive.
Three restaurants are right next door: The Roasted Coconut, Pizza House, and Vietnamese Cousine. Starbucks is a 7-minute walk to the west. Black Hole Coffee is a 7-minute walk to the east. H-E-B grocery store is a 7-minute walk to the northwest, and it has an EV charging station close to it. Amazon pick-up station is a 2-minute drive to the North at Westheimer, or you can order right to the doorstep — just mention the unit number.
The host was very responsive and courteous. They responded to my messages promptly, answered questions, and helped with every request.
Again, the stay was absolutely great. The location is great, and I loved the apartment's privacy and fresh style. I especially appreciated the absolute cleanliness.
Negative: Some things to have in mind:
- The ground floor units are not very lit. Two small windows from the bedroom look to Mandell Street through the parking; One large window looks into the entrance gate arch, and another one looks to the inner yard;
- Sound isolation is ....well... what you could expect from the wooden house. You hear the steps and voices of your neighbors above;
- The ceiling is relatively low; do not raise hands when the ceiling fan is working;
- The parking space is relatively compact. I had a medium-sized car (Hyundai Ionic 5), and I had three inches on the left and two inches on the right. However, I managed not to scratch the car during all my 12 days;
- The apartment is cool, and the blankets are thin; I used both blankets. I stayed in March. But you have the A/C;
- There is no working desk; I used the kitchen table to work with the laptop;
- The WiFi speed is about 30mbps, both upload and download. It reduces to about 20mbps in the evening. L2TP is not supported, so if you need a VPN, keep this in mind. I used my mobile hotspot for VPN. Web, email, voice, and streaming movies are OK, no problems.

Clean and Complete Montrose Crash Pad
Short walk to museums and restaurants in the Montrose area. Clean unit, looks like it has recently been redone so everything looks new. No washer dryer, you cannot be a light sleeper due to some urban noise expected from the area but it gets quiet at night. Easy in and out, would come back here again.
